Around Christmas of 2010, my accountability group was pondering our next bible study endeavor. During the course of conversation, we discovered that all of us wanted – and had attempted to read through the bible – however, most had not been successful because of lack of accountability. Helloooo? Did I mention that we were an accountability group?
After a few minutes, we decided to temporarily set aside some of our awesome go-to bible study resources and read through the Bible together chronologically in a year. After perusing the internet for bible reading plans (for all of about 5 minutes), we landed on one that looked good. It started on Christmas Day and ends on Christmas Eve the following year.
To say we were excited would be an understatement. We had custom binders printed (aren’t they cute?) complete with tabs for each month and we put all our names on the back (which apparently makes people think twice before bowing out due to busy-ness or any other slick ninja maneauver the devil throws our way). We even have book marks with each month’s readings to keep us on track, and I even challenged the few (but furioulsy loved) Coffee with Christ blog readers to join in our journey.
