In our previous episode, God provided Moses with specification for the garments the priests would were and specified the priests would come from Aaron’s lineage. God’s priests – those who were set apart to minister to Him – dressed differently and specifically from everyone else. And what they wore, held meaning.
The priests carried the names of God’s people on their shoulders and over their heart. They would take on the guilt of God’s People in order to be accepted by God.
Let’s listen to God’s continued instructions in Exodus chapter 29:
Reflection Questions:
- What stuck out to you today? What surprised you?
- Why did the priests have to be consecrated?
- How does this story point us to Jesus?
